Learning is negatively impacted when disruptive sound transmits between classrooms Teachers’ lessons are not clearly heard in the back of the classroom, students’ questions go unnoticed, or reflective sound makes a common space “loud” and distracting.

It’s important to recognize that effective acoustic design in schools is not limited to the classroom itself. Our work extends the landscape of educational environments and includes campuses of higher education as well as non-traditional learning facilities.
